My brothers and their families are up from Georgia and Florida for something of a family reunion – getting us all in the same state at the same time is something of a miracle. Last night we celebrated my sister’s and new husband’s wedding at his restaurant. On the way up to the buffet table to get our food, my mom pulled me aside and gave me a hug and said mistily, “look at what my babies have become”… I don’t much get into hallmark moments, but that one got me.
This is the five of us:
We’re (the boys) also celebrating our birthdays… As I posted the other day, I was born on July 7th, 1970. My brother (in the black shirt) was born on July 6th, 1972 and my other brother was born on July 5th, 1975.
The doctors told my mom, shortly after my brother Joe was born, that if she had another child on the 4th or 8th of July they’d deliver it free of charge. Unfortunately my sister (on the right) broke the mold and was born in January.
This is what we’ve become:
This weekend couldn’t have been much better.
My sister’s son didn’t make it into the photo… I have a feeling he was in the bounce house.
“I took the rubber grommets off my wheels. Seemed unnecessary. Shaved off 3.72 grams as well. The improved speed up the hills was not as noticeable as I hoped.”
If you know anything about bikes, that comment is hilarious. Thanks for the laugh.
