This time last year we were enjoying temps in the mid to upper 70’s. In fact, once I brought my road bike home on the second of March I didn’t have to ride it in the office again until November.
This year is a wee bit different. We got two inches of snow last night. This winter just won’t die and it’s driving me batty. Now they’re saying we should be back above freezing some time next weekend. One more week on the stinkin’ trainer.
In the end complaining about it won’t change anything, but more snow won’t cure my longing to feel the warm sun on my face as I blast down the road either. This is the miserable part of winter that just won’t go away.
‘Tis what it is, and it will make the summer sun all the more sweet but there’s nothing worse than those last few weeks of winter.
I can remember writing a report on Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s on First” routine in third or fourth grade – I saw the skit on TV, long before home computers were even popular (let alone the internet, mobile phones or laptops) and it absolutely captivated me.
My eldest was working on her fourth grade science fair project (a scientific study of which bubble gum can stretch the furthest after 60 seconds of chewing) and the memories came flooding back… So I called the clip up on my iPhone and shared it with my girls sitting on the couch. My youngest loved it.
Now I’d like to share it with you – for those who know of it but haven’t seen it in ages, or you young whippersnappers who have never heard of the best comedy duo of all time… Still makes me laugh:
