Why a Cyclist becomes Insane and Chooses to Ride Ridiculous Miles

The photo above is of one of the most delectable cinnamon sugar encrusted donuts known to humankind.  They also have so many calories, the only way to justify eating one is on mile 33 of a 101 mile day….

The photo above is of the 45th Parallel Café.  Oops, no it isn’t a photo of the 45th Parallel Café… The food is excellent, and plentiful, and we did eat there but that isn’t it.  That’s about 61 miles in.  Incidentally there is a sign marking the spot of the 45th Parallel – and I got it.  My buddy Chuck got it the second time we came through…  If City Limits signs are to be contested, the 45th Parallel, exactly halfway between the North Pole and the Equator, is worth 45 times the points.

We ride because if we don’t, we would miss moments like this….

It’s a no-brainer, my friends.  I never knew fitness could be this much fun.

Please stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow morning.

Then and Now

If you need to remember just how bad it was to be a drunk, or if you need a little hope for a better future, click on the link above and read.  It took me back in an instant and helped me remember why I quit drinking in the first place.

Powerful work, that post.
