I was going to head over to McDonald’s for a Big Mac, after a bike ride. Then I stepped on the Scale…
Every once in a while, you know what I’m talking about, I have a craving for a Big Mac. One of those where a Big Mac just sounds like the best thing in the whole world. I’d just gotten back from a nice 24 miler on the gravel bikes with some friends, too. If there was ever a “good” time for a Big Mac, that was it.
I jumped in the shower to get the funk off, dried and… stepped on the scale.
I’m already down to my pre-Thanksgiving weight. So much for that Big Mac. Better than pre-Thanksgiving, I’m down to my mid-season weight, probably ten pounds lighter than I normally would be right now. I made a couple of tuna fish sandwiches instead.
There’s simply no way I can wreck that good news with a Big Mac.
It isn’t exactly a surprise that I’ve lost weight, I’ve been watching what I eat pretty carefully, but that I’m at my mid-season weight that’s a surprise.
I’m simply not willing to mess that up. A Big Mac is tasty, no doubt, but it isn’t tasty enough to mess up mid-season weight.
A Special Anniversary Gift…
A card just came in the mail from a friend and his wife for my 25th Sobriety Anniversary.
Crazy thing is, I know them through our blogs. We’ve never met as they reside in Ireland. I’m in Michigan, USA…
Funny how blogging makes the world a smaller place.
My friends, thank you for the card. It was a really nice surprise.
