Sometimes a break is needed.

August 2020

I’ve been posting prolifically for several months. Every day for as long as I can remember… some posts were really good, others not so much. I got to a point where a few we just written to write something and that’s just not good enough.

I need to let go of that need to write every day and take a few to get my head back on square.

I’ll just say that this is a very good thing. I am currently enjoying life (even my work) more than politicians would prefer be legal. After all, if we’re not angry and fighting, we aren’t as pliable.

Just a thought.

  1. I’ve always been amazed at how prolifically you write, so it will be strange not seeing your posts pop up as frequently, but it sounds like a good idea to take stock 🙂

  2. The Omil says:

Always look forward to reading the posts – but do whatever feels best to you. The riding is more important than the writing about it.

  3. Anthony says:

It is always good to take a break and recharge. You might find a whole host of things to write about, or you might find comfort in writing less….or more.

It will be odd not seeing your posts, but I believe you will find a much needed reprieve. Enjoy this time away, and I am sure there will be so much you will longing to share when you decide it is time to come back. I am off to ride my new to me Diamondback Bike. I am changing out parts from my Specialized. I am pretty mechanically inclined. I got the seat changed, and kick stand off. I am debating on changing out my handle bars. My Specialized were a chosen for me, wider bar. I have a friend who will help me change out the wheels. I am super excited. Today I am just going to ride it as it is, and see how it feels. It is a smaller frame, and me being only 5’2” I believe a much better fit. It was one of those deals you can’t pass up. So anyways take care, and enjoy the little things! Blessings!

Congrats on the new bike! I hope you ride the wheels off it! I’ll be back soon enough. I love writing, I just want to recharge and come back stronger.

Sounds good we all need that every now, and again. Thanks on the new bike, of course I am a little anxious as I don’t know it like my other bike. So I plan to take a nice leisurely ride to learn it. I will be out in about an hour. Here goes all or nothing lol! Enjoy your break!

Call it a taper, Jim. Promise I won’t say anything smart 😉

  6. Eliza says:

    Take care of yourself….

  7. biking2work says:

Have an invigorating break Jim and enjoy the holiday in the Deep South…

  8. joliesattic says:

My break is taking way too long.

  9. I agree. Sometimes you gotta take a breather. I think that’s especially true in our current contentious climate spiked with anger and discord. It’s like the world just wakes up in a crappy mood lately and I am reluctant to add to the noise. Stay well.

  10. RecoveryWise says:

I did the same thing in April of 2017. After furiously posting about my recovery for 6 months, I realized I had gone away from writing for me. Today I am ever mindful of the need for balance in my life.
